Emu
The Emu is a large flightless bird up to 2 m tall. The feathers are sparse around the upper neck revealing blue skin, which is darker in females.
Males hatch the eggs and care for the chicks, which are dark brown with cream stripes. Immature birds have a dark head and neck. The Emu’s call is a deep grunting or booming.
